iPhone Update 2.2.1 and Podcaster Re-born

iPhone software update to v2.2.1 is now available. Bug fixes etc.
Read Apple Insider for details.

Also, the infamous podcaster is now re-born as RSS Player. I wish the developer success and riches given the crap Apple put him through.

Back to the drawing board Alex has created RSS Player, which IS essentially Podcaster - minus the directory.

Depressing News From NOAA

Explain this to the kid, in an optimistic manner.

NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Climate Change Largely Irreversible

The scientists emphasize that increases in CO2 that occur in this century “lock in” sea level rise that would slowly follow in the next 1,000 years. Considering just the expansion of warming ocean waters—without melting glaciers and polar ice sheets—the authors find that the irreversible global average sea level rise by the year 3000 would be at least 1.3–3.2 feet (0.4–1.0 meter) if CO2 peaks at 600 parts per million, and double that amount if CO2 peaks at 1,000 parts per million.

I can hear the skeptics..why waste money, it's going to happen anyhow, party on!.
Explain that to Pacific Island Nations, freaked at the idea of a couple of inches, and already looking to move their whole country to higher ground.

The President, the Cloud and the Website

I missed the live broadcast (3.30 AM Aus), so read his speech instead.

The word cloud conveys that he spoke to his audience though it doesn't reflect the strong international theme of his speech.
