Without prior notice or discussion, Australia's Communication Minister (the irony of that title), Helen Coonan, today tabled a Bill in Federal Parliament that hands the Federal Police Commissioner the power to decide what Web content is crime or terrorism related and to demand that ISP's ban such sites.
Australia already has overview of criminal or terrorism web content via departments such as ACMA, ASIO and the AFP. One wonders what those departments think about being usurped by a dope like Mick Keelty.
Keelty is a submissive public servant with a record of high profile fuck ups.
Where would individuals such as Richard Neville or the Chaser's war on Apec stand under the scrutiny of Keelty, after making him and his mates look like complete fuckwits on many occasions?
