Apple Goes After Woolie's Logo

I wasn't happy with Woolworth's claim about their new Fresh Food logo when they released it... "Australia's new symbol for Fresh Food"
Now Apple are challenging the design.

This will be interesting to watch.
While Woolworths claim to be the "Fresh Food People" they also retail Mobile Phones, Petrol, Booze, Specialist Electronics, Gambling, Home Hardware etc. Their "Peeled Apple" logo features in some of these non fresh food retail outlets, so attention from Apple is understandable.

For crying out loud, there are hundreds of major corporate logos that are closer than these two. Apple are being over sensitive, as usual, with their image, especially considering their own history with brands.

I think the "over senstive" interest by Apple relates to Woolworths new move into Mobile Phones and the Dick Smith Technology stores, which don't sell fresh fruit and vegies but do sell computers, mobile phones and all related add ons.

Methinks it's Apple looking to the future of Australia's largest and most diversified retailer and potential cross overs.

There is nothing Fresh Food about petrol stations, but there's the peeled Apple :)

Peeled apple? It looks like a fancified W to me. Oh and it looks nothing like apple's partially used yet oh so shiny fruit. To me :)

Yes. But Apple's logo doesn't look like compost. I thought it was strange that Woolies went with a logo of apple skin which we used to peel and discard when we were kids. Mum always said that there were chemicals on the skin and unless we washed our apples, it was better to peel them.

Have you noticed how long apples last these days? It's probably better not to eat them - a little like it's better not to shop at Woolies either.
