Internode Release Their iPhone Apps

Our Broadband provider, the wonderful Internode, have just released two iPhone Apps.

The Broadband Usage meter is handy while the "Free WiFi Locator" is useless.

We live in the National Capital of Australia and Internode don't do WiFi here at all.

Things that happen in a National Capital are like what happened today... the Government announced that it would roll out 200MBS Fibre To The Home Broadband across the whole country, at an estimated cost of $43 Billion.

Meanwhile Canberra has no Internode WiFi at all.
They provide WiFi at Football arenas in Melbourne and dusty outposts in their home State, South Australia.

I'll trade their iPhone Apps for a couple of well located WiFi hot spots in Canberra anyday.

Google's role in the Aus Election

Google 2007 Australian Federal Election

I question Google Australia's lightweight participation in our once every 3 year orgy of influence, bribery and bullshit.

I would far prefer to read their positions on key Australian issues like ...

  • Online Censorship
  • Access to and distribution of broadband
  • AWA's within the IT industry
  • The ACCC case against Google
  • etc etc etc.

I don't want more painful political YouTube links. I want to know the position of the Australian branch of one of the worlds biggest companies and why they have decided to get cute with the Australian political process.

PS: Happy 10th birthday Google
