Whilst I'm impressed that you've written yer first plugin, I'm not impressed that yer charset still makes me look like a stereo-typical jew .... not that I have anything against being jewish, but I don't think I could handle the couple of inches of skin that it costs to convert :|

I've no idea without looking into all your settings and stuff.
It does seem to be evo related though because if I change my name in your db it shows correctly in your skin.
Have a talk with Afwas, he seems to know how to handle charsets ;)

I've never had to bother with charsets, everyone I know speaks english ... or a relatively understandable variation ....... so I'm crap at debugging problems with them
Some things that may help though :
1)Your feeds page doesn't correctly change the charset of some feeds ( this may be something to do with the feeds but from an evo point the output is changed to $current_charset when the feed is displayed by the plugin .... might be worth echoing out the $current_charset var ;) )
2) If I change my name in your db then it's output correctly ( hints that the problem is more on the "input" side of things )
3) It's late and I'm soon off to the land of nod ( now that one's bound to help :D )
btw, comment moderation sucks, thank god yer an idle arse and haven't changed yer password ;)

Thanks a million, though there is a problem.... everything that had "¥åßßå" in previous posts, comment headers or feeds has been stripped or converted to his innervisions link.
In this post there was a link to ¥åßßå... it has gone and so has all the content that came after it.
I'll see if I can patch it tomorrow!!?!!

Set your default comment status to "Published" in admin > blog settings > urm .... one of the tabs :p
Or install our wonderful plugin, which may or may not work in 2.3 as I stopped using comment moderation ages ago .. and no human hoops either ;) ( mind you, I'm not sure if moderation is back on my blog as I've just upgraded it to 2.3 and haven't had a chance to check my system :p )

I Have that AM Allow Comments installed, It certainly makes life easier for me, buggered if I know what it does for anyone else.

g'won, lets see if you went the whole hog and made the default comment status published ( which that plugin will only do for the author/assigned user of a post, or a blog member, not a visitor )
Ohhh, I'll also jump through the "I know, it's 'smart' huh?" hoop that I always have to jump through ... at least whoo's "human" box allows for unique replies ;)

Seriously, you have a bobo box, set comments as published by default and see how much spam you have to delete, I bet it's bugger all ( even though I'll still gripe at having to fill in the bobo box ;) )

*runs off to untick the "spam me by clicking on the envelope next to my name" box that comes back if you preview* ... I really need to change that in the core ĥĥĥĥ :|I reckon you would gripe if there was nothing to gripe about.
