All of a sudden Gmail 2 is as slick as greased lightening.
I've bitched about it's slow performance before and defaulted to the older version.
Now I'm pleasantly surprised and wonder what's changed.
Apart from a Firefox upgrade, everything else remains the same.
Suddenly, the fastest version of Gmail (UI=1), has lost access to Settings.
To access settings I have to load the slowest newest version of Gmail (UI=2).
Hoping this is a temporary glitch.
Update: It seems to have resolved itself. It was only specific to my MacBook Pro and didn't happen on the iMac. I disabled everything in Labs so maybe this had some effect. How very odd!.
Update: So now this odd behaviour has become intermittent. Sometimes UI=1 won't/can't link to Settings, then out of the blue it can.
Got me beat.

Offline Gmail has been replicated for Google Calendar.
For me, this Offline Calendar App is useful, allowing for some serious planning and scheduling work.
An update for Gmail Themes
Now you can select your own colour scheme via a popped up version with colour chart selectors for areas, backgrounds, links etc.
Now if only they could speed the thing up a bit.
It may be Machine, OS, Labs, Browser, Location or Code specific, however I'm reverting to UI=1, the Older version, for basic email functions.
I've had too much of this
using UI=2
I love the wizzbangery of UI=2, especially Tasks, however the overload is just too much when trying basics like clearing the Bin or Spam
The snappiness of UI=1 Beta is a dream compared to UI=2 Beta.
Update: Just released - Google Apps Status Dashboard
