iPhone 3G - My Ducks Are All in a Line
The reasons why...
- The better half's dripping hints about my birthday
- I just purchased her a new house ( In like Flynn )
- Optus Australia have the best plans
- Optus is my current provider
- We always buy mobiles outright
- The iPhone's price competitive with a top end Nokia or Ericsson
There is a problem. I'm the perfect candidate for the previous iPhone with it's compulsory software update.
I'm going to try a source an original iPhone. If that's too difficult, I'll surrender to she who must be surrended to and gleefully unwrap the iPhone 3G in August.

Is 700mb the best data plan? Seems a tad low for a 3g phone with a built in youtube outlet.
The carrier (only one) in Canada backed down from the ridiculous rates it had originally intended to charge and is now offering a data plan of up to 6gb for $30 a month (about on par with the Aus$), so it actually became a pretty reasonable option.

Have you played with an instore demo? I was kind of underwhelmed by it and removed it from my wish list.
