I didn't think giving away possessions would be such a RELIEF
I decided that anything, within reason, older than 6 years should be given to charities in the hope that they would gain a reasonable benefit for their good work and I could clear my cluttered decks.
The blokes that collected this stuff remarked that they rarely get such items as people try and squeeze the last buck from everything by advertising it for sale and as a final resort, ask the charities to collect what remains to save on disposal costs.
Dragging the last bucks from stuff just seems odd. It has to be advertised and I'm not the type who can be bothered dealing with tyre kickers and their haggling.
Some cat is going to get something for what seems like a song yet to the charities is good money.
I let go of some warmly aged possessions with an appreciation that they had paid me back years ago.
