Over hyped Netvibes update?

Sneak Peek of Cinnamon: the Netvibes 2.0

Tariq KRIM...

"Here at netvibes we've been working very hard on our new release called Cinnamon...
With tons of new features, a smarter user interface, and many more modules of your favorite sites, Cinnamon will change the way you use and view the web."

Well Tariq, it doesn't change the way I use or view the web. I'm doing the same today with Netvibes that I was doing yesterday and in some areas it's just become frustrating.

You have screwed up a perfectly good Search component and loaded some of the ugliest skin choices I've seen. I'm relieved that default is still included.

I understand that VC's who hand over $15 million expect some bang for buck but please be careful with the marketing speak. This upgrade adds some additional modules and bling.

Update:
Good to see that the original "Classic" search has been reinstated.
A newer Netvibes, a better Netvibes

Update 2: Tariq Krim replies..

the release of Cinnamon is for the next 3 months. Our idea is to bring innovation one after the other.Things will occur time after time. The classic search and the classic theme are here. For the new skins we have started with the tonic set, we will have more sets in the future.

Tariq, thanks for the reply.

I am not a new user and have been using Netvibes for ages. Your reply is most likely the the sort of thing I would have far preferred to read on release day.

What I like about your organisation is that you are responsive to your users as shown by Classic Search being put back in.

I guess it was the use of buzz words in the original write up that got under my skin.

All the best with the future and I look forward to the continued development of Netvibes.
