The new car - maybe!

After the total write off of my Honda, tomorrow I enter hard core negotiation for a classic, low kilometre, one owner spick n span Audi a3

Update: The deal is done, the price was right. Tomorrow I have wheels again which beats using a hire car even with an insurance discount.

The car is terrific, even if I'm a bit rusty with 5 on the floor manual transmissions.
It's a nifty and nimble unit and a big change from the sofa like comfort of the totally automatic Honda.
Off to crunch the gearbox some more.

Nice choice. A3's are nice little cars. I think that's the same platform my TT is on (in a modified form of course).

I have to say that I wish I could have got my hands on a 1.8, or 2.0 version, but it's a great city car. I don't know how it will be on a 9 hour trip up the east coast of Australia though :)

What engine does it have in it? The rest of the world gets all sorts of stuff we don't here in the US. In fact, we didn't even get this gen of the A3.

It's the German Audi 1.6.... with a translation book and a lot of additional English labels stuck on it :)
