The new Shaun Inman

The Heap thumbnail image

The all new Shaun Inman is a big departure from the previous version in more than font size and colour

He takes a design approach to the timeline and archives of a site and explains it as follows...
About the Heap

Every item on this site (or any site for that matter) can be associated with an identifiable point in time. Each point encapsulates a unique frame of mind. As time passes, that frame of mind and the items associated with it become potentially less relevant and begin to fade. Visibly.

Identifying content's place and importance over time is an original approach. Great concept.

I've had a quick look around and read through the concept and I must say I think it's a hugely innovative and interesting idea.

I like the way Shaun is constantly pushing new ideas into his redesigns and I did like the last site but I found that once I'd read the initial post about the new site and a bit about the redesign, I got back to the homepage and felt a little lost.

I can't explain it properly other than a feeling of not really knowing where to click next.

Well, it's mainly a links page, however anything that leads in with READ is a post.

Simple but takes some getting used to.

Yeah, it's as simple as could be really but I can't put my finger on it. I was thinking perhaps it's simply the default large text which doesn't give such an immediate overview of the structure and layout of the site like I'm used to.

Strange but I definitely like the look of it and the concept and scripting is very innovative as usual.
