The ON switch

On the 12th of July 2007 we switched off the Internets and moved house from sunny Queensland to the the depths of winter in Canberra.

Some observations and thoughts....

  • Mac software updates totalled 141.3 MB
  • Our daily average temperature moved from 26 to 8 degrees.
  • Tomorrow it may snow
  • Being off-line is ok.
  • The ship returned to the sea
  • Regional hotels supply free WIFI
  • Computers without the Internet are junk
  • This site is broken in IE
  • Blogging and Forum updates are thick on the ground.

The last point means that this site will revert to a trickless pony of lost hacks and a cowboy with a poor sense of direction.

Cheers

It was also my birthday. I live in QLD also. Brisbane to be exact. Where did you move to and how is it so far?

Hi Steve, we did live on the Sunshine Coast and now live in Canberra. A big change to say the least.
