Why can't Google ads and Firefox be friends?

I have tinkered with the right side menu and, in Firefox/Mozilla browsers (win2k), I now have the Flash Of Uncertain Google Ads.

Before I meddled the Google ad was located in the header html.
Due to the right side menu change, the Google ad is now within the content php of the site and sure enough, the FOUGA has returned.

TWS mentioned the same problem, though his solution is a bit extreme for me.

Any ideas welcomed. The ad sits in a div with inline CSS as follows
