EasyCGI purchased my previous Australian web host, moving all customers and accounts as part of the deal.
Based on lousy EasyCGI Hosting Reviews, we found a new Australian based provider. Once that was settled we could cancel the involuntary accounts at EasyCGI. Not so Easy
The only way to cancel an EasyCGI account is via a telephone call and because it's from outside the USA, it means full international call rates.
So far it's taken two such calls, with the Easy person wondering why I would want to cancel!!
Why do I feel this won't be the end of the matter? The promised confirmation email still hasn't arrived.
If you buy an offshore business and it's customer base, show some respect for those customers instead of making them jump through expensive hoops when they no longer want your service.
Update: Finally, action. After calling the USA at 4 AM this morning, I was getting testy that I had no promised email of confirmation. Somewhere on their labyrinth web site I found a form. I told my story and to my surprise I got an email requesting I reply. Told the story one more time and within 30 minutes I had a reply that the accounts will be cancelled, deleted and gone within 45 hours.
My thanks to Ken however I still wonder why that couldn't have happened in the first place.
Update: Yes, confirmation that EasyCGI have deleted our sites. There's app $100 I won't be billed for something I never wanted.
